DIY Ice Cream Cone Decorating: Creative Ideas for a Sweet Treat

DIY Ice Cream Cone Decorating: Creative Ideas for a Sweet Treat

This month, we’re in the middle of autumn, and we have one of the biggest holidays, Thanksgiving, kicking off the first of several end-of-year festivities.
More than any other holiday, Thanksgiving is centered around celebrating all of autumn’s bounty and … most importantly … eating a lot of good food and treats. Happily, we at Joy Cone have some deliciously edible and creative ideas for treats and decorations that families can create … and devour … together.

Here are some seasonal and autumn and Thanksgiving recipes and crafts, all using Joy Sugar Cones, Cake Cups and Waffle Bowls:

Chocolate Acorn Cupcake Cones – They say, “Mighty oaks from little acorns grow.” In honor of autumn, we have some acorns that are certain to grow into the most-requested treat in your house. Kids will love helping to make … and, of course, eating … these delightful, easy-to-make cupcake cones. (Recipe and photos by Candice of @CelebrationDayStudio.)

Mini Apple Pie Waffle Bowls – When it comes to our little ones, we know the extra effort of taking a traditional dessert and turning it into a just-for-them-sized treat is a little gesture that means the world to them. That’s why these mini apple pies featuring enJOY-a-Bowls® are such a hit at home. Not only do they hold a single serving of pie filling, they fit in the palm of hands that are — you guessed it — on the little side.

Pumpkin Cannoli Ice Cream Cones – You can put on your amateur baking hat and try making traditional cannoli  at home, but the process of shaping and frying the shells is time consuming. We came up with a way to substitute cannoli shells with Joy Sugar Cones and added the popular autumn flavor of pumpkin. Skip all the fuss so you can save your fall weekends to pick apples and visit pumpkin farms with your kiddos.

Autumn Mixed Berry Crisp À La Mode – Because it’s still autumn, our Autumn Mixed Berry Crisp combines the slightly tart flavor of berries with the sweetness of streusel, topped with vanilla ice cream, and served in our tasty enJOY-a-Bowls®. Easy to make, this perfectly delightful treat will be an in-demand family-favorite for many months to come.

Pumpkin Pie enJOY-a-bowls – Pumpkin pie is a classic autumn and holiday dessert and, as good as it is on its own, many people think it can be made even better topped with a dollop or two of whipped cream or several scoops of ice cream. Here’s a recipe for homemade Pumpkin Pie enJOY-a-Bowls® with all the deliciousness of pumpkin pie without having to spend a lot of time making a complicated and hard-to-get-right pie crust.

Thanksgiving Leftover Cones – This month, we’re providing a way to whittle down the leftover turkey and stuffing that will delight kids, reduce the need to wash more dishes, and may just become your favorite meal in the days — or possibly weeks — after Thanksgiving. It’s our Thanksgiving Leftover Cone, and it’s easy to make and a JOY to eat.
