Cake Pops

Every occasion, no matter how minor, should be celebrated with cake; however, the reason there isn’t more cake in our lives is probably because it’s time-consuming to make, everyone has a different favorite type of cake, and it requires coordinating plates, forks, and a flat surface on which to eat.

We think that something so delicious should be more convenient to serve and enjoy.

Happily, our Joy Sugar Cones make the perfect cake companion.

This month’s recipe shows how one can take their favorite type of donut holes, give them a candy coating, sprinkles, and an optional chocolate drizzle, before placing them into one of our delicious sugar cones, where they become the most conveniently portable way to eat cake that’s ever been devised. No plates, forks, or tabletops needed!

What you’ll need:

  • Donut Holes
  • 2 (12 ounce) packages of candy coating wafers, divided
  • 2 Tablespoons multi-colored candy sprinkles
  • 24 lollipop sticks
  • Joy Sugar Cones

Directions:

Place ½ cup of candy coating wafers into a small microwave-safe bowl. Melt in the microwave at 50 percent power for 30 seconds. Stir the candy coating, and continue to heat at 30 second-intervals until melted*.

Insert the lollipop stick about half way into the donut hole. Dip the doughnut hole into the coating, covering it completely. Hold the dipped pop over a bowl, and sprinkle with colored candy sprinkles. Place the completed pops in a cake pop holder or on parchment paper to set. If you wish, drizzle melted chocolate onto pops. Allow pops to cool and completely set; about an hour.

Remove lollipop sticks from cake balls. Place 3-4 cake balls into Joy Sugar Cone. Eat immediately.

*Caution – items will be hot.
