JOB SUMMARY:
The Support Equipment Mechanic will ensure optimal performance and functionality of motor vehicle/warehouse equipment and machinery within Joy Baking Group.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform regular maintenance checks and repairs on equipment to ensure smooth operation
- Diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions and technical issues
- Replace or repair faulty components and ensure equipment meets safety standards
- Assist in setup and installation of new equipment
- Load cone scrap from Silo and work with vendors to be removed
- Maintain parking lot during winter months
- Identify areas for improving equipment efficiency and performance
- Recommend and implement upgrades or modifications as needed
- Other duties assigned by supervisor
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Able to read, understand, and strictly follow written procedures for multiple processes
- Must be organized and maintain work area to a high level of cleanliness
- Must be highly motivated to work with a team or on individual assignments
- Strong ability to analyze/interpret technical information and form conclusions
- Able to identify areas that need attention and either address or report as necessary
- Must be able to speak, listen, and effectively communicate with team members
- Follow direction and perform assigned work duties independently with minimal supervision
- This position involves regular bending, stooping, twisting, and lifting
- Must be able to operate equipment and use power tools
- Must maintain a current license with no violations and be able to drive a motor vehicle
- Able to stand and/ or walk up to 12 hours per day, climb, reach and regularly use stairs
- Must be able to safely lift up to 75 pounds
- Good understanding of and strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Policies (GMP)
- Adherence to the company attendance policy is required, including expectations of punctuality and limited unapproved absences
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in a relevant field preferred
- 5+ years of experience in equipment maintenance, support, or a related technical role
- Current driver’s license with no violations
