JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Production Maintenance Specialist is responsible for being an on-the-floor presence to support the Production and Maintenance teams through complex troubleshooting, new process implementation, new equipment installation, and existing process/equipment improvements. The position will also work closely with the Plant Manager, Quality, Safety, Engineering, and process improvement personnel. The position will work on all production processes including cookie, wafer, and spun pie shell production.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for supporting uninterrupted production through complex troubleshooting and proactive maintenance activities
  • Support the Production and Maintenance teams through new equipment installation and new processes including, but not limited to: equipment design, equipment installation and commissioning, and development of new processes/procedures associated with new equipment/processes
  • Work closely with process improvement personnel on special projects that pertain to continuous improvement
  • Provide feedback to Plant Management regarding the status of projects and needs of the facility
  • Responsible for providing coaching and training to members of the Maintenance Team to facilitate skill development
  • Work closely with the Maintenance Team, Engineering, and Production to generate solutions to problems within the plant
  • Focus on corrective and preventive actions pertaining to process and equipment failures that impact product quality, personnel safety, and/or efficiency
  • Provide input for capital budget projects and aid in execution of the projects
  • Off-hours calls may occur
  • Perform other duties as directed by supervisor

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Able to problem solve effectively, coordinating with team members and other departments as necessary to ensure successful outcomes
  • Requires extensive electro-mechanical aptitude, including a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems
  • Must have a full understanding of the production process and all process and support equipment
  • Excellent attendance, punctuality, and work habits required
  • Must be able to perform assigned work duties independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication skills to listen and speak effectively with team members and actively participate in team meetings, as well as communicate effectively in writing to keep relevant personnel up to date on project status and plant needs
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to analyze and interpret technical information, mathematical concepts, and form conclusions
  • Ability to work full time, approximately 45-50 hours/week, primarily day turn hours, with the ability to adjust schedule based on facility demands
  • Must be able to accurately take instructions and keep records
  • Push or pull with up to 75 lbs. of force on an occasional basis
  • Able to stand on and/or walk up to 10 hours per day
  • Must be able to detect audible tones and alarms
  • Must be available to travel occasionally

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 3 years of management experience in a related field is required
  • Robotics and automation experience preferred
  • Proficient with the following software: Microsoft office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Project)
  • Experience with PLC Control Systems is preferred
  • Experience with welding is preferred
  • Experience with EAM/CMMS Software is preferred
  • Autocad/Solidworks experience is a plus
