Bringing JOY to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®
Here at Joy Cone Co., we believe in bringing people together to experience joy.
That is why we have partnered with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as part of our 100-year birthday celebration!
“Your child has cancer” is a sentence that no parent wants to hear. Yet, thousands of families every year are faced with those world-shattering words. Just a little over 50 years ago, that sentence meant that they would not only face a medical battle but also most likely would face the loss of their child.
Now, thanks to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, families around the world are given hope that their child can survive and beat cancer. That is why we want to help St. Jude bring joy to these families!

Danny Thomas imagined a hospital where a child could be treated no matter their race, color, creed, or ability to pay. In 1962, that dream became a reality as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital opened in Memphis, Tennessee.
Despite opening the hospital in the middle of a turbulent time in American history, St. Jude saw success in being the first fully-integrated hospital in the South. Additionally, they extended that integration throughout Memphis as any hotel that partnered with St. Jude had to agree to house anyone, regardless of race.
In addition to life-saving treatments, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food—because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. Moreover, St. Jude shares their research openly so doctors worldwide can have access to the life-saving discoveries, helping thousands of families across the globe.

Joy Cone and St. Jude are committed to families. Although each operates in different capacities, Joy Cone and St. Jude grew because they envisioned a world that brings people together through attention to detail and the highest levels of quality. That is why we chose to partner with them in support of our 100th-anniversary celebration.
As Joy Cone CEO/President David George says, “At Joy Cone, we strive for the highest quality in all aspects of our business, from production to delivery. At St. Jude, quality is evident in the fact that treatments developed at the hospital have pushed overall childhood cancer survival rates from 20 percent when the hospital opened in 1962 to more than 80 percent today.”
The Joy Cone family has also joined together to help St. Jude families through the Joy Cone Employee Giving Campaign, which took place in May 2018. Any money donated by employees during that time was added to the amount that Joy Cone has pledged to donate to St. Jude.
Joy Cone is committed to helping St. Jude save kids. That is why we are donating $100,000 so that they can focus on saving children’s lives. You can help by donating, too! In fact, the majority of funding for St. Jude comes from individual contributors.
We also encourage you to join the St. Jude mission by visiting stjude.org, liking St. Jude on Facebook (facebook.com/stjude) and following them on Twitter (@stjude).
St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90 percent, and won’t stop until no more children die from cancer. For more information, please watch this video.
