Ganache is one of the easiest desserts to make—and one of the most indulgent. Ganache is the chocolate center of a truffle, and its melt-in-your mouth, chocolate creaminess is the perfect bite-size treat.

We added a little crispiness to this delectable dessert with crushed Joy Cones, to create a balance of crunch and creaminess.

Here’s how you can make it too.

Ingredients:

  • 1 large bag of dark chocolate chips
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 sleeve Joy Cake Cups
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 skewer

Instructions:

Step 1: Start by emptying a sleeve of Joy Cake Cups into a large plastic bag. Seal the bag and beat the cones with a spoon until they are broken into small pieces. You can also use a food processor for a finer consistency. Then, set aside.

Step 2: To make the ganache filling, pour approximately 8 ounces of dark chocolate chips into a medium mixing bowl. Heat the heavy cream on the stovetop until it comes to a boil. Then, pour the heavy cream over the chocolate chips and stir until they are melted and combined.

Step 3: Sprinkle the Cake Cup bits into the melted chocolate. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place in the fridge for at least one hour.

Step 4: Using a spoon or small ice cream scoop, scoop out the ganache and roll it into balls. Place each ball on a tray lined with either foil or parchment paper.

Step 5: Pour the remainder of the chocolate chips into a small bowl. Add the vegetable oil and heat in the microwave, stirring every 30 seconds.

Step 6: Pierce one ganache ball with a skewer. Dip it into the melted chocolate using a spoon to cover it completely in chocolate. Place the dipped ganache ball back onto the lined tray and remove the skewer. Sprinkle a few Cake Cup bits on top for décor. Repeat this process for each truffle. When all the truffles are coated, place them in the freezer for approximately 30 minutes.

Step 7: Remove from the freezer and serve immediately.
