  • This is a fill-in position. 

JOB SUMMARY:

The Junior Production Assistant is responsible for the operation of an assigned production area or production line(s) to the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide support to the production floor and act in a leadership capacity through a demonstrated knowledge/proficiency of all associated positions
  • Coach new and current employees on company policies and standard operating procedures
  • Enforce Joy Cone’s GMP and Safety Policies
  • Conduct production, sanitation, and quality checks per procedure, report deviations to management as they occur, and take appropriate corrective action
  • Prioritize work responsibilities within assigned work area
  • Attend safety, food safety, sanitation, and/or leadership trainings as offered/assigned by supervisor
  • Identify and accurately report defective materials, food safety hazards, and potential product contaminants
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Must be able to properly prioritize work responsibilities within assigned work area
  • Excellent attendance required, which includes expectations of punctuality and limited unapproved absences
  • Must attend safety, food safety, sanitation, and/or leadership trainings as offered/assigned by supervisor
  • Identify and accurately report defective materials, food safety hazards, and potential product contaminants
  • Able to complete 800-hour preventative maintenance on cake cone Turnbull Ovens
  • Ability to read, analyze and follow directions
  • Must be able to speak, listen and openly communicate with team members and actively participate in team meetings
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw a valid conclusion
  • Able to operate fork-lift/lift equipment
  • Able to safely lift up to 75 pounds
  • Stoop, kneel, climb or squat on an occasional basis
  • Possess manual dexterity & use hands to grip, pinch, handle, reach, or feel on a frequent basis
  • Stand on a continuous basis and walk on a frequent basis
  • Able to perform repetitive tasks up to 12 hours per day
  • Must be able to work in a scissor lift at elevated heights occasionally

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have demonstrated a good work record and attendance
  • Must be signed off to pack a minimum number of cake cone packs
