The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for customer contact and sales within a designated sales territory. This position has repeated face-to-face, telephone, and electronic interaction with customers to stimulate and complete sales opportunities.


  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets and expand customer base within the territory
  • Create and lead sales presentations for customers based on insights and product features/benefits
  • Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and development
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all clients
  • Communicate with internal sales support staff to assist in completing required documentation, manage customer issues, and maintain relationships at all levels
  • Collaborate with Joy leadership and other departments to develop effective sales strategies and promotional campaigns
  • Monitor competitors’ activities and market conditions to adjust strategies
  • Prepare regular reports on sales performance, forecasts, and market trends for management
  • Ensure compliance with the company’s policies and procedures
  • Travel the region to meet with clients and attend industry events


  • Must be highly motivated, able to follow directions, and to perform assigned work duties independently with minimal supervision
  • Able to manage multiple projects
  • Must be able to analyze and present complex information effectively
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Must have an aptitude for problem-solving
  • Must be able to speak, listen, and effectively collaborate and communicate with team members
  • Must be able to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Must be organized and maintain a home office/remote work area
  • Able to manage transport and assembly of trade show displays
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Extensive travel required. Able to travel up to 75% at points for industry events, customer meetings, and conventions, including some weekends


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred
  • 5+ years of experience as a sales professional
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Chicago base preferred, or large Midwest based
  • Broadline distributor experience
  • New business acquisition experience
  • Foodservice sales experience preferred​
  • National account and chain experience
  • Experience with basic call procedure and solution selling
  • Experience in Foodservice backroom operations
  • Experience in end user cold calling
  • Experience with contract negotiations
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
