JOB SUMMARY:

The Cookie Plant Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment throughout our Cookie Plant.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, machinery, and equipment in the plant
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant electrical codes and safety standards
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues in a timely and efficient manner
  • Identify and rectify problems with electrical components, circuits, and systems
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for electrical equipment
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify potential problem and address them proactively
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to upgrade or modify electrical systems for improved performance
  • Participate in projects involving the installation of new electrical equipment
  • Adhere to safety protocols and standards to ensure a safe working environment
  • Implement safety measures during maintenance activities and adhere to lockout/tagout procedures
  • Maintain accurate records of electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance activities and minimize downtime
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and other plant personnel
  • Respond to emergency situations promptly to address electrical failures or hazards
  • Implement emergency repair measures to restore functionality
  • Conduct testing and calibration of electrical systems
  • Ensure that equipment meets specified performance criteria
  • Maintain and organize tools, equipment, and spare parts necessary for electrical maintenance
  • Report any issues with tools or equipment for prompt resolution
  • Stay informed about advancements in electrical technology and industry best practices
  • Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ability to read, analyze and follow directions
  • Must be able to speak, listen and effectively communicate with team members and actively participate in team meetings
  • Ability to apply formulas and mathematical concepts and to use them in product and process development
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw a valid conclusion
  • Must be able to perform assigned work duties independently with minimal supervision
  • Must exhibit excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to demonstrate a good Electro-Mechanical aptitude and have strong multi-tasking ability
  • This position involves bending, stooping, twisting, and lifting
  • Must be able to have full use of arms and legs to climb stairs and ladders to access all areas of the plant and office
  • Push or pull with up to 50 lbs. of force on an occasional basis
  • Required to stand on their feet and/or walk 10 hours per day
  • Must be able to detect audible tones and alarms
  • Must be able to travel occasionally
  • Must be able to read and comprehend wiring diagrams and electrical schematics
  • This position requires frequent use of platform lifts

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Journeyman Electrician, BS in Electrical Systems or related Electrician degree from a Certified Technical Institute
  • A minimum of 5 years of commercial and industrial experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of PLC systems, controls and programming a plus
