- This position is a steady midnight shift.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Janitor performs general plant custodial duties and grounds maintenance. This position will pack cones to cover lunch breaks and other relief of packers as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform general janitorial and clean up tasks as listed on the daily clean up sheets for each shift
- Record completed tasks and document other issues as necessary
- Follow proper handling procedures for cleaning and other chemicals as trained
- Operate cleaning equipment including floor scrubbers, steamers, and industrial vacuums
- Refill syrup dispensers and change pans
- Clean snow from entrances and sidewalks as necessary
- Follow proper procedures for cleaning of biohazard spills/accidents
- Identify areas that need attention and either address or report as necessary
- Perform related duties as required by supervisor
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing effectively
- Able to legibly and accurately record information
- Good understanding of and strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Policies (GMP)
- Must be able to safely lift up to 75 pounds, bend, stoop, climb, reach and regularly use stairs
- Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds above shoulder height.
- Job involves bending, turning, twisting, use of hands and rotation of wrists
- Ability to stand on feet 12 hours per day
- Must be able to pack between 10 and 12 cases per hour.
- Must be able to distinguish and sort by color.
- Identify areas that need attention and either address or report as necessary.
- Adherence to the company attendance policy is required, including expectations of punctuality and limited unapproved absences.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be signed off to pack a minimum number of cake cone packs
- Must have demonstrated good work record and attendance
