Celebrate the World Cup with Joy Cones

The 2018 FIFA World Cup is upon us, and people all over the world are celebrating.

At Joy Cone, we’re all about bringing people together in celebration. That’s why we’ve come up with eight ways you can celebrate the World Cup with Joy Cones!

Every good party needs food, décor, and games – we’ve got you covered.

World Cup Party Snacks

Soccer Ball Cake Cones

Making a cake cone is easier than you’d think. Check out our Boston Cream Pie Ice Cream Cone Recipe for detailed instructions. Start by mixing together yellow cake mix batter. Place the cake cones upright in a muffin tin or special cone holder and pour the cake mixture into the cake cones. Follow the baking instructions on the cake mix box.

Let the cake cones cool and then frost them with white frosting. Using black gel frosting, draw in the soccer ball pattern. For extra fun, print out small versions of the different team flags, fix them to a toothpick, and insert them into the cake cone.

Snack Mix Cones

No party is complete without snack mix, and Joy Cones are a fun, edible way for guests to hang onto their own personal portion. Simply mix together the snack mix of your choice. This could include nuts, pretzels, crackers, rye chips, raisins, or candy – whatever you prefer.

Then provide waffle cones for guests to scoop out a portion of the snack mix with. This allows guests to conveniently carry their snack mix around, and then they can eat the waffle cone when they’re done!

Cannoli Dip with Waffle Cone Chips

This sweet twist on a party favorite is sure to be a crowd pleaser at your World Cup party. Here’s what you’ll need:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 ½ cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1 box Joy Waffle Cones

Beat together ricotta cheese and cream cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar and vanilla to the mixture. Stir in chocolate chips and refrigerate for at least 10 minutes before serving.

Place Joy waffle cones in a sealed bag. Lightly beat with a spoon until the cones are broken into large chunks. Serve the cone chips alongside the dip.

Chocolate-Dipped Waffle Bowl with Fresh Fruit

Shake up the classic fruit bowl with Joy Waffle Bowls. Simply melt chocolate chips in a large bowl. Then, dip the rim of each waffle bowl into the melted chocolate. Place the dipped waffle bowls on parchment paper and place in the refrigerator to cool.

Once cool, serve fresh, chopped fruit in each waffle bowl. Strawberries, blueberries, grapes, pineapple, and kiwi all pair well with waffles bowls and chocolate!

World Cup Décor with Joy Cones

Team Flag Cone Wrapper

Looking for a cute way to represent your favorite teams? Print out flags of opposing teams. Then, using a template, cut the flags into the appropriate shape so that they form a cone when wrapped.

Lay out the wrappers at your ice cream cone table so guests can wrap their ice cream treat with the flag of their favorite team.

Sugar Cone Vuvuzelas

The vuvuzela, or lepapata, is a plastic horn that creates a loud noise. Vuvuzelas are very popular at the World Cup and come in a variety of colors.

To make your own Joy Cone vuvuzela, simply cut off the bottoms of Joy Sugar Cones and spray paint them a variety of colors. Each guest can choose their own color and root for their team with their own vuvuzela.

Soccer Games for a World Cup Party

Sugar Cone Soccer Drills

This game is a fun way to get up and moving. All you need is Joy Sugar Cones, a baseball bat, a stopwatch, and a soccer ball. Simply set the sugar cones on the ground like traffic cones. They can be in a straight line or spread out, depending on the challenge.

Have each participant spin around the baseball bat with their forehead touching the end of the handle. Then, they immediately have to kick the soccer ball through the cone obstacle. Time each participant with the stopwatch. The person who completes the course in the shortest amount of time wins. For more authenticity, you can spray paint the cones with orange paint.

Joy Cone Soccer Pong

Soccer pong is a fun, family-friendly version of the popular college game. Here’s what you’ll need:

Start by lining up 15 cake cones in triangles on each side of the table. There should be five cones on the edge of the table, then a row of four, three, two, and one with the points of the triangles facing each other. Divide into two teams of two people, standing at opposite sides of the table.

Players take turns tossing the soccer ping pong balls with the intent of getting the ball in a cone on the opposite side of the table. If a player gets a goal, the cone is removed. The first team to get a ball in all 15 cones wins.
