Job Title: Human Resources Assistant

The Human Resources Assistant will work under the Human Resources Manager and perform tasks in all aspects of the HR department including Hiring, Benefits, COBRA, Wellness, Workers Compensation, FMLA, Sick leave, Personnel Tracking, Annual events, and projects. Additionally, this position will include intermittent reception coverage.


  • Assist employees in answering questions relating to practices, policies, benefits, and other human resource needs in a friendly and confidential manner
  • Processes and reviews employment applications to evaluate qualifications or eligibility and tracks applicants through screening processes.
  • Provides support in the talent acquisition process (e.g., applicant phone screen, scheduling appointments, administration of the applicant tracking system)
  • Processes new hire information, background checks, coordinates drug screens and completes the I9/E-Verification
  • Coordinates employee onboarding and orientations
  • Participate in the implementation of policy, procedures, and practices involving the Human Resource function
  • Assists with the planning and coordinating of various training programs and employee events
  • Tracks employee attendance
  • Understands and administers company policies, procedures, and documentation
  • Covers reception as needed
  • Performs a variety of clerical duties including data entry and filing
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



  • Must be able to speak, listen and effectively communicate with team members and actively participate in team/department meetings and initiatives
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills with the ability to work well under pressure
  • Involves regular use and collecting, organizing, processing & filing of required paperwork
  • Must be able to effectively collaborate and develop a strong relationship with plant operations leadership and staff
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with employees in all types of personnel interactions and provide thorough written documentation
  • Able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Able to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Able to work professionally with employees, co-workers, and vendors
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Position is essentially sedentary but must have ability to regularly climb stairs and access all areas of the office and plant
  • Involves extensive keyboard operation and regular use of office equipment.
  • Involves occasional offsite trainings, seminars, and webinars


  • Associate degree or higher in human resources or business administration
  • Proven experience in HR Operations preferably in a warehouse, or manufacturing environment
  • Experience with full cycle recruitment and onboarding
  • Experience with HRIS and ATS systems preferred
  • Experience using Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and G-Mail require
