JOB SUMMARY:  

​​​Under the direction of the Cookie Plant Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for supporting the operation of the facility through: MRO purchasing, preventive maintenance scheduling and work order administration, spare parts inventory and EAM administration, and LOTO procedure development and maintenance. This position works closely with Production and Facilities Maintenance, Quality, Sanitation, and Production personnel to minimize unplanned downtime through effective maintenance scheduling and to maintain the efficient production of a safe, quality food.​​​

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Monitor the Preventive Maintenance Schedule and assign PM work orders in compliance with established maintenance deadlines 
  • Assist the Maintenance Manager in updating existing PMs and creating new PMs as equipment is changed or added 
  • Maintain spare parts inventory for all production lines and production- and facilities-related equipment 
  • Maintain inventory of maintenance-related consumables, including lubricants 
  • Oversee inventory of company-issued maintenance tools and order replacements as needed 
  • Manage the implementation and maintenance of an EAM program 
  • Manage maintenance-related documentation pertaining to food safety and regulatory compliance (e.g. SDS, food grade and allergen documentation) 
  • Work with and build relationships with vendors 
  • Assess sources for parts and consumables to maximize cost savings and part lifespan  
  • Coordinate with 3rd party vendors for services including, but not limited to: oven inspections, robot PMs, metal detectors, rubber rollers, and silo maintenance.  
  • Must be willing and able to attend safety, food safety, sanitation, and/or leadership trainings as offered/assigned by supervisor 
  • All work must be carried out with the expectation that the employee will, without exception: 
  • Adhere to all food safety & quality protocol 
  • Understand and abide by all procedures pertaining to allergen control 
  • Adhere to all Good Manufacturing Policies (GMPs) 
  • Identify and accurately report defective materials, food safety hazards, and potential product contaminants 
  • Assist and back-up the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Specialist as necessary to help cover special projects and balance workloads 
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Must be able to properly prioritize work responsibilities within assigned work area  
  • Must be detail-oriented and accurate with strong organizational skills with the ability to work well under pressure 
  • Must be able to effectively manage multiple work flows 
  • Must possess mathematical and analytical skills as they apply to the area of responsibility 
  • Able to apply mechanical and electrical knowledge to research new parts as existing parts become obsolete  
  • Adherence to the company attendance policy is required, which includes expectations of punctuality and limited unapproved absences. 
  • Able to read, analyze and follow directions 
  • Must be able to keep accurate records 
  • Must be able to speak, listen and effectively communicate with team members and actively participate in team meetings 
  • Must be able to professionally communicate verbally and in writing 
  • Must be able to regularly lift up to 75 pounds, have full use of arms and legs and climb stairs to access all areas of the plant and offices 
  • Stoop, kneel, climb or squat on a frequent basis 
  • Possess manual dexterity & use hands to grip, pinch, handle, reach, or feel on a frequent basis  
  • Stand on a continuous basis and walk on a frequent basis  
  • Able to perform repetitive tasks up to 10 hours per day 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent.   
  • Demonstrated record of mechanical skills and experience 
  • Must have or be willing to gain full knowledge of production process and floor equipment 
  • Relevant experience preferred 
  • Must demonstrate a proactive attitude towards problem solving 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
